Michael Olise, born on December 12, 2001, in London, UK, holds both French and British citizenship. He is a French professional football player who plays as a winger. Having come up through the youth academies of English clubs such as Chelsea and Arsenal, he made his debut for Reading in 2019. After being named EFL Young Player of the Year in 2021, he joined Crystal Palace upon paying a release clause of £8.37 million. During his three seasons at Crystal Palace, he set numerous records; following his recovery from injury in 2024, he scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists in 19 matches, earning him a nomination for PFA Young Player of the Year. In July of the same year, he transferred to Bayern Munich for €60 million. In his first season at Bayern, he recorded 12 goals and 15 assists, becoming the top assist provider in the Bundesliga. At the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, he scored twice, including the winning goal, helping his team advance. Originally considered for the Nigerian national team, he ultimately chose France; in 2024, he won a silver medal with the French Olympic team. He made his debut for the senior French national team in September, and in the 2025 UEFA Nations League, he scored a goal and provided an assist, helping his team stage a comeback.
